Question & Answer
What can I expect at the time of
purchase?
At the time of purchase, we will go over your order in detail to ensure
that all materials needed to complete your job will be ordered.
We will discuss any additional fees such as removal and disposal of your
old flooring and moving of appliances. When purchasing flooring for a
bathroom, the toilet will need to be removed and reset. We can provide
this service for a fee which includes a new wax ring for your toilet.
We can schedule an installation date at the time of purchase or when
your material arrives.
What can I expect the day of installation?
We will inform you
of a time frame you can expect the installers the day of installation.
Slight scuffing may occur to base boards and walls unless you purchased
a soft-backed carpet. It is optimum to allow paint and wall paper to cure
for a couple of weeks before installation to minimize scuffing.
The installation team will remove scraps of material when finished and vacuum
upon job completion.
Doors and closet doors may need to be removed during installation. The
installers will put them back once finished. We are not responsible for
cutting doors.
Our installers will need to make many trips in and out of your home to
get materials. They will need to wear shoes at all times.
How do I prepare for installation?
The areas that are receiving installation will need to be cleared of all
furniture, appliances, electronics and personal belongings. We can provide
these services for a fee. We are not responsible for reconnecting water or
gas lines after installation.
Your old flooring will need to be removed and disposed of. We can
provide this service for a fee. If you want to remove your old flooring
yourself, you can leave the tack strip in place. Floors should be clean of
any debris for the installers. For carpet that was glued down, the
sub-floor will need to be scraped clean.
What can I expect after installation?
For some time after
installation, it is normal to have some sprouting and/or shredding.
Shredding should subside with vacuuming. Sprouting is noticed when a
single tuft extends beyond the surface. Do not pull at the sprout, simply
clip it off.
Sometimes when installing vinyl products, you may notice small air
bubbles, this is common. Many times these will disappear over time. If you
should notice any, they are easily fixable and are not a sign of improper
installation. Please call and we will address the issue in a timely
manner.
